Residual Current Devices

The term RCD and RCCB are often used interchangeably, however RCD is an umbrella term that covers RCDs, RCCBs, CBRs and MRCDs, RCCBs refer to a particular RCD- the residual current operated circuit breaker without integral overcurrent protection.
 

Residual current devices (RCDs) is an umbrella term covering:

1.  Residual current operated circuit-breakers without integral overcurrent protection (RCCBs)

​

2. Residual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection (RCBOs)

​

3. Circuit-breakers incorporating residual current protection (CBRs)

​

4. Modular residual current devices (MRCDs).
